Highly recommended. It's hilarious, and moving, and anyone who's ever been in a classroom, (teacher, student, parent) can relate. I love this book so much that ever since I stumbled on it at a book fair several years ago, I have purchased one for every teacher my children have had. I come from a whole family of educators and they all love it too.
This is how I will survive 4 children under the age of 7. This is how he survives the classroom. I will take his advice and master the many "looks" that are required of a teacher.
I laughed out loud. Done teaches. I was hooked on this book from the moment I read the first page, I literally could not put it down.
He is inspiring, witty and at a time, when people seem to be discouraged about America's future and it's children.he shows us that everything will be just fine. Not only was I able to re-live my memories as a child in grade school, I was able to see the similarities between his students and my own children.
If only I could parent like Mr.
Every teacher should read. This book is so cute and very true. Great perspectives and hilarious stories.
It's a nice mixture of humor and emotion. A series of small vignettes about teaching that I just loved. A great voice for teachers, and a great insight for parents of students.
I bought this as a Christmas present for my Dad, who is a teacher, but I read it first. I LOVED this book. Awesome book for parents, teachers, or anyone just wanting to remember their school days. I so remember the things he is talking about happening when I was in grade school. Mr. Done is a great writer.
